Will2Work Clothing Drive A Huge Success!

ZIPS Dry Cleaners would like to thank all of our customers for making the Will2Work clothing drive a huge success in 2010. This year, our customers donated over 5,000 garments! Even with the state of the current economy, some stores received more donations than previous years. This year, we even received donations from people who previously benefited from the Will2Work clothing drive.

ZIPS Dry Cleaners partners with Goodwill for the Will2Work Clothing Drive during June. ZIPS collects and cleans the donated garments for free, and Goodwill distributes them. The Will2Work Clothing Drive is designed to give disadvantaged adults free access to donated suits and professional attire that can be worn on the job or to job interviews.

ZIPS Dry Cleaners participates in several franchise-wide clothing drives a year including:

• Operation Pretty and Polished& Once Upon A Prom in April (Prom gown and formal wear drive for high school students)
• Will2Work in June (Gently-used professional clothing drive)
  
• The Winterhaven Homeless Stand Down Project with the Veterans Administration in November (Warm clothing and coats for homeless Veterans)

Reduce, Recycle and Re-Use At ZIPS!

Eco Fact: Did you know that Americans throw away more than 100 billion plastic bags each year? This includes trash bags, grocery bags, packing bags, etc. To help reduce waste, our stores are now using environmentally-friendly, biodegradable plastic bags on all orders. These bags are made from specially formulated polymers that degrade over a relatively short period of time, reducing waste volumes in landfills.

Eco Fact: Did you know that 3.5 billion hangers end up in landfills every year? As a dry cleaner, we cannot stop using hangers, but please don’t throw them away. Instead, return them to ZIPS for re-use. Our stores have specially designed blue recycle bins for hangers in the lobby for your convenience. Or simply give them to one of our friendly counter associates. If you want, re-use the rubber bands that you get from ZIPS to bundle the hangers together when you return them to your local store.
